Hello and welcome to Vintage Heart Home. I don’t suppose there’s a better way of getting to know me than reading what I post about, so if you follow my Instagram you may already know a little about me… My name is Vera, and to most of my friends I’m known as ‘V’. My sons and I moved into our cosy Victorian Cottage in this small Essex Market town almost 6 years ago now.
I first discovered the world of Home Interior blogs about 4 years ago when I began reading U.S blogs ‘Dear Lillie…’ and ‘French Country Cottage’. As someone who has always loved (and is seriously addicted to!) Interior magazines and all things home, I was hooked…and seeing all the Christmas house tours on the blogs I’d started following that year was amazing. For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed decorating my home for the Holidays and the change in seasons – so for that very reason I know I will never fall out of love with styling my home… a love I know so many of you share with me.
Over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to call some incredible properties home, including an Edwardian farmhouse and a rambling Vicarage – and turning those neglected houses into warm inviting homes have been some of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’m a big fan of American home style and love Martha Stewart, Rachel Ashwell (of Shabby Chic fame) and Potterybarn (fabulous home accessories… and they now ship to England, if you can afford the postage 😊) but so many of the things I love and connect with most are British; Cream teas, our beautiful Coastline , Emma Bridgewater china and the understated beauty of English Country style.
